About Company Credit Score
companycreditscore.co.uk helps UK business owners and directors check, understand and improve their own company credit score. Here is who we are, where the information comes from, and how we keep things honest.
Who we are
companycreditscore.co.uk is a First Report service. We give owners, directors and sole traders a simple way to see their own company credit score, learn what it means, and work to improve it. The free self-assessment runs on this site; the full Company Insight Report, your account and any payment are handled by First Report, which operates the report service behind this site.
We focus on one thing: your own company's credit score. If you need to check a different company, that is a different job, and we point you to the right place rather than trying to cover it here.
Where the information comes from
A company credit score is pieced together from public and commercial records: what your company files at Companies House, insolvency notices published in The Gazette, county court judgments recorded by the Registry Trust, and payment and risk signals held in credit reference data. A report shows the most recent picture at the moment it is drawn.
We set out the reasoning in plain terms. A score and credit limit are a strong, evidence-based steer for a decision rather than a forecast of exactly how a business will act, and individual report items appear only where the data exists.
How we keep it honest
The free score check is a self-assessment: it gives an illustrative figure from the answers you provide, nothing is stored, and it does not affect your score. Your real, data-driven score comes from the Company Insight Report. We disclose plainly that this is a First Report service and we do not share copy or claims with other sites in the group.
The service is operated by First Report Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 2456252.
